The short version

You can read every page and use the assistant without telling us who you are. We ask for an email address only if you want a copy of your conversation, we send nothing until you confirm that address, and one click removes you permanently.

Conversations with the assistant

Messages are stored so the assistant can be improved and so a conversation can be continued. They are stored against a random session identifier. We do not store your name, your IP address or your browser details. Email addresses, phone numbers, national identity numbers and card numbers are detected and removed automatically before anything is written down or sent to the language model that generates answers. Please still avoid typing personal details — the assistant never needs them.

Answers are generated by a third-party language model provider, which receives the text of your question after that removal step and does not receive any identifying information.

Email addresses

If you ask for a copy of your conversation, we store the address, the date you gave it, the page you were on and the exact sentence you agreed to. We then email you a confirmation link. Until you click it, nothing else is sent. We use the address to send your transcript and occasional notes when deposit rates move. We never sell it, rent it or pass it to any bank or advertiser.

Removing yourself

Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link that works immediately and needs no login. To have your address and conversation deleted entirely rather than simply suppressed, email us and say so — we will delete them and confirm when it is done.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The assistant keeps your session identifier in the page only while the page is open.

Affiliate links

Some links to banks earn BanksYouPick a referral fee. Those links may carry a tracking parameter identifying BanksYouPick as the referrer so the bank can attribute the visit. This never changes the rankings or what the assistant tells you. See our advertiser disclosure.
